Nightlife in Colombo – Experience the city in a different light!

The city of Colombo is popular for a variety of things, from cultural and religious heritage sites to golden sandy beaches, but for those who want to experience the city in a different light; bars, clubs and casinos thrive after the sun sets!

The city’s night life attracts tourists and locals alike who wish to enjoy bars, clubs or any casino in Colombo, which have particularly taken a rather prominent stance in Colombo’s night life. As most casinos are located within the city limits, and are open 24 hours a day, a stay over at Mount Lavinia Hotel, which offers 200 years of history mixed well with grandeur and décor, would make the start of your night in the city truly a one to remember! Transport to and from the casino could be arranged upon guests’ request.
Bally’s Casino, located in the heart of the city is easily accessible to the city’s shopping malls. The casino is complete with a restaurant and a bar offering daily entertainment to give guests the best experience of city’s night life.
Casino Marina Colombo conveniently sits on the edge of Marine Drive, where guests are treated to breath-taking views of the Indian Ocean just outside its towering wooden doors. Marina Colombo has been around since 2013 and is considered to have the most modern facilities in Sri Lanka. The four storey building houses a complimentary self-service restaurant and bar to all playing guests, a gallery reserved especially for private gaming and a special floor is dedicated to tourists on a travel package, while the top floor; a gaming lounge is reserved for VVIPs.
Bars and Clubs have grown in popularity with the locals and tourists alike. For a relaxing night by the beach pop in to Shore by O! for a lovely chilled beer. Colombo bars are seemingly more popular for their happy hours between 5pm to 7pm. For those who want to dance the night away, put on your dancing shoes and head on to clubs like Clique or Rhythm and Blues! Clique has two sections – one for RnB and the adjacent side for House music, whereas Rhythm and Blues has a variety of music that caters to the masses. As most clubs generally kick off by 12, pre drinking at bars is customary with locals and the city has its fair share of bars to choose from!
The city of Colombo never disappoints its travellers as it always has something exclusive to offer its guests and the nightlife in Colombo is no exception!
