The House of Dancing Water

Surrounded by magical fountains, a princess imprisoned by an evil stepmother is waiting to be rescued by her true love. A lowly fisherman helps her lover to find a way through the queen’s guards who patrol the princess’s cage and defeat the wicked queen. Their story unfolds in a magical kingdom of water built inside the City of Dreams complex in Cotai, Macau.

‘The House of Dancing Water’ is a show unlike any other. Created by the legendary Franco Dragon, the water base performance includes acrobatics, performance diving, stunt bikes, and dance. Add a series of fountains that are perfectly synchronized to music intertwined with dance choreography and you have a ballet that is designed to awe and inspire. The narrative transports the audience into an enchanted land off the coast of Macau where a touching love story takes place amidst a battle between good and evil.

A production of such magnitude requires a theatre of epic proportions. The House of Dancing Water Theatre was custom built to stage the show that took nearly seven years to produce. Seating areas are arranged around the stage, which can be converted into a 26 feet deep pool in less than a minute. The pool is surrounded by 239 water jets that can produce sprouts up to 18 meters in height. Aerial performers, backdrops and props can be lowered and lifted with rigging that provides 360 degrees of performance. Combined with state-of-the-art controls for sound and lighting, the show is an example of how precise engineering elevates artistic genius.

Presented by a multinational cast of dancers and stunt men and women, the show lives up to its much deserved reputation as one of the finest water based performances in the world. In one breathtaking scene a ship manned by sailors suspended from towering masts traverses the stage. This enthralling show deserves your attention during your stay in a Macau Hotel. Extravagant but elegant, the Galaxy Macau Resort Hotel presents an equally captivating backdrop for a holiday in the island. Set apart from other Luxury Hotels Macau, it allows the guests to create their own adventure under the bright lights of Macau.
