The annual Skywards Dubai International Jazz Festival will span over nine nights. It will feature 22 varying performances by musicians from across the world. In 2013, it will be held from Thursday, 14th – Friday to 22nd February and is open to any one interested in music or even those who want to explore the musical extravaganza the experience has to offer. The occasion will be held at the Festival Park in Dubai Festival City and the admission fees are AED 295 for regular standing, AED 395 for a middle seat, AED 495 for a front seat and AED 995 for a VIP.
This year Dubai Festival City will be hosting the event for the second year. The main acts will include popular bands from across the world. They will include The Script, a world renowned Irish alternative rock band well known for their single “the man who can’t be moved”, the celebrated British rock band Deep Purple, who will perform on February 21st , and also American pop rock bands loved by all such as One Republic who are well known for their singles “Apologize”, “Good life”, “Secrets”, “All the right moves” and also 3 Doors Down known for their singles “here without you”, “Kryptonite”, “When I’m gone” and “Its’ not my time” who are expected to enthrall the crowds on February 14th and 15th.
The other musicians at the happening will include Chuck Loeb, Nicholas Cole, The YellowJackets and Guy Manoukian, who is a favourite in the region for his fusion jazz.
In addition the programme also has many other functions on the sidelines of the festival such as evenings at the Jazz Garden, where a wide variety of blues, soul, Rhythm and Blues and many other genres of music will be performed for the entertainment of the participants.
