Macau Convention & Entertainment Centre

Fun Filled Entertainment!

The Sky Tower located in the city of Auckland in New Zealand, stands tall at a height of 328 metres and has the distinction of being prevailed upon as the tallest structure in the hemisphere and a distinctive feature of the city’s skyline. Inspired by the Sky Tower in Auckland, New Zealand, the Macau Convention and Entertainment Centre, also known as the Macau Tower was commissioned by Stanley Ho Hung-Sun. Designed by the Beca Group and Gorden Moller, the crew commenced construction in 1998 and completed this structure in three years. The tower was officially opened with pomp and splendour on the 19th of December 2001.

The Macau Convention and Entertainment Centre is thus, not even fifteen years old, but has been the location where a number of Guinness World Records were both broken and made. At a height of over three hundred metres, the tower witnessed A. J. Hackett and Edison Chen break two world records on the 17th of December 2006 where the former broke his own record for “The Highest Bungee Jump from a Building”.

The structure is complete with an observation deck with panoramic view of the Macau skyline which makes it an ideal place to visit to see the sunset. Those who adore a rush of adrenaline can experience the walking tour around the building called Skywalk X. For those who wish to engage in some divine retail therapy, the site is replete with restaurants and shopping malls. The height of the structure also provides people with the opportunity to try out “Skyjumping’ and bungee jumping in a safe environment. Thus, whether it is retail therapy, an adrenaline rush or delicious meals you crave, the Macau Convention and Entertainment Centre will undoubtedly deliver.

The tower is an ideal place to begin sightseeing in this Special Administrative district for anyone staying in Macau hotels as it gives tourists an amazing view of the surrounding skyline. For those seeking the best Macau hotel to reside in during the course of their stay in the city, the Galaxy Macau Resort Hotel is a wonderful option that will make their holiday a memorable one. Offering luxurious accommodation and a wealth of amenities this hotel is also known for its attentive service.
