The Abu Dhabi aerobatics event held annually for the past 9 years is a spectacular display of world class pilots showing off their aerial skills in many different areas.
This year, going away from the tradition of holding the event in January, the organizers – The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, have opted to hold the event from the 30th of November to the 2nd of December 2012 in order to coincide with UAE National Day Weekend.
As an event that brings together some of the world’s best aerobatic pilots, the event will see wing walkers, airplanes, gliders and helicopters from 15 different countries vying to top one another in a series of spectacular displays. The participants in the event will be judged under three different categories or disciplines of air racing.
The event is held under the Patronage of the Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and will be held at the Al Ain International Airport.
As the event is set to take off during the weekend, it makes for an ideal holiday for the entire family, who no doubt will enjoy the Aerobatic Show no matter their age. An added attraction for the non locals who hope to take in the event is that the city of Al Ain has been designated as a UNESCO Heritage Site due to its richness in historic and cultural treasures.
