The Art of Eight Limbs: Experience in Thailand

science of the limbs

It will be difficult to find a tourist who has not heard about Thailand. However, it is not so hard to reach areas in Thailand that are unexplored by the tourists. Thailand is a country full of historical surprises. And the best surprise is when you will find people who still fight for a living in Thailand.

Of course Muay Thai is a known phrase. But people who actually live that lifestyle are not so easy to locate. Their lifestyle is interesting. When you study closely, you will see how disciplined these professional fighters are. Now considered the national sport of Thailand, the Muay Thai was earlier known as the Art of Eight Limbs.

Many centuries ago, the Thai fighters conditioned themselves so that they could use their bodies as weapons for combat. Their hands are the daggers, while the legs and knees are the axe, their shins and forearms are the armour that they can defend themselves with. In Thailand, though it is difficult to locate the actual Thai warriors, you will find players who fight it out in the rings.

Over the years, Muay Thai has drawn attention from tourists. And now you will find many places where you can find Muay Thai performances. However, you cannot find the same performance at all the places. It differs from place to place. Some Muay Thai programmes are especially designed for tourists, while some are more tradition-bound. Stay somewhere such as Anantara Rasananda Koh Phangan Villas, so that you can decide which programme you should attend. There are many restaurants also in the vicinity. In Koh Phangan, restaurants are not a rare sight.

The Thai king, who passed away recently, used to be a great fan of Muay Thai. Historically speaking, the first Thai army was formulated in the northern city of Sukhothai. The army was created because of the need to fight many wars with the adjacent kingdoms. The army was instrumental in protecting the government as well as the citizens. The soldiers were trained in hand combat and they knew how to use their bodies well in combat.
